Summary of the 2nd edition of BIOEXPO Warsaw

On October 8-10, 2020, many enthusiasts of ecological products came to PTAK Warsaw Expo, despite the restrictions related to the pandemic. The second edition of BIOEXPO Warsaw was a unique opportunity for contracting, as well as learning about market trends and novelties.

BIOEXPO Warsaw 2020 was very popular from the very first day. In practice, it was the only event for the bio industry organized in 2020. The implementation of the BIOEXPO format event was quite a challenge, however, Ptak Warsaw Expo rose to the challenge and created excellent conditions that favored business talks and contracts. The International Food and Ecological Products Fair was a meeting place for leading producers and distributors of food and organic products with buyers, representatives of retail chains, owners of specialist stores and representatives of food and multi-branch wholesalers.

For three days, PTAK Warsaw Expo was the center of interest for enthusiasts operating in the BIO sector. During the fair, participants had the opportunity to see the wide range of food and ecological products presented by a record number of exhibitors. As many as 230 companies exhibited their products, including numerous novelties, such as recognized sales hits. The high attendance among visitors was conducive to active sales and creating space for sustaining and establishing new business relationships, which are a key element of the BIOEXPO format event.

An inseparable part of the fair are discussion panels, during which the most current topics for the industry are discussed. As part of the BIOEXPO Congress, numerous conferences and workshops were held, conducted by specialists related to the BIO sector. During their speeches, the speakers raised many problems that the bio industry has to grapple with in response to changes and market needs. During the conference, topics such as: post-covid reality in the context of business and effective sales and product promotion were discussed, and an attempt was made to answer the question – how to encourage customers to buy more often in the eco-shop. Changes in the legislation regarding organic farming were also discussed, as well as the presentation of the latest research on the BIO market.

As part of the event, a CONSUMER PLEBISCITE and voting for the BEST PRODUCT OF BIOEXPO Warsaw 2020 were organized. Voting was realized online and information about the Plebiscite was posted on bioexpo.pl. Among the products participating in the competition, there were numerous market premieres and bestsellers in their categories. All products participating in the plebiscite were presented during the fair in the novelty zone and at the exhibitors‘ stands, while those that received the highest number of votes in given categories were awarded with BIOEXPO Warsaw statuettes.

The second edition of the International Food and Ecological Products Fair, despite the limitations related to the pandemic, was a huge success and in practice the only event for the BIO industry in 2020. The success of BIOEXPO Warsaw 2020 would not be possible without the involvement of partners, as well as exhibitors and visitors. The main partner of the fair was Lidl Polska, while the strategic partner – the Polish Chamber of Organic Food. The honorary patronage was taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The fair was supported by the IFOAM EU Group and a large group of industry and media partners.

PTAK Warsaw Expo proved that despite the pandemic period, it is able to organize the largest events, ensuring the comfort and safety of their participants. The huge exhibition area and the application of all GIS recommendations and guidelines regarding sanitary safety allowed the event to be successful, and most importantly – without compromising on quality.
